Cafe HOurs Only
A community-based event series where music, culture, and connection meet over coffee.
Coffee.Music.Connection.
Cafe Hours Only is a community-driven daytime event series that brings creatives together through coffee shop social events. We host social experiences in partnership with local cafes, featuring DJs, community connection, and intentional spaces to create and unwind. Our mission is to provide a welcoming environment where artists, entrepreneurs, and creatives can build real connections over coffee, music, and culture.
ODE TO ORIGIN
In celebration of 100 years of Black historical recognition, Cafe Ruisseau and Cafe Hours Only present:
Ode To Orgin: Coffee Bean
Let's journey back 100 years to February 1926, when Carter G. Woodson, a Black historian educated at Harvard, initiated "Negro History Week." This pivotal event aimed to highlight and celebrate the often-overlooked achievements of African Americans that remained untold in mainstream history. Woodson recognized the significance of acknowledging Black history and its long-term value. By 1970, what began as a week of recognition evolved into a month-long celebration supported by the U.S. government.
Fast forward to 2026, 100 years after the inception of Black historical recognition. CAFE RUISSEAU and CAFE HOURS ONLY, a community-based coffee pop-up series founded by Black entrepreneurs, are honoring this legacy by creating a special coffee blend that embodies and celebrates the richness of Black culture.
The origin of coffee traces back to the ancient forests of the Ethiopian highlands, where the Coffee Arabica plant grew wild. ODE TO ORIGIN is an Ethiopian Limu Seka washed blend featuring notes of blueberry, black tea, and cream. This soothing, sweet, and delicate light roast symbolizes joy, leisure, and grace. So take your time; greatness is not in a rush.
